Jean-Baptiste Queru, the technical lead of Android Open Source Project has made an announcement stating that the source code of the newly released Android 4.1 Jelly bean mobile operating system will be made available to everyone from today.
Right now, binaries are only available for the Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus Android devices, but versions for Nexus S and Motorola Xoom versions have been promised.
Well, the release of the Jelly Bean source code will give joy for all the third party developers like CyanogenMod, who will definitely use it to release a array of custom ROM firmwares for all the Android devices shortly.
Since the source code of Android Jelly bean will be a new one, it still may take some time for things to go live as the code is replicated. If you would like to get more information about this source code release visit the Google group link here or the AOSP site.
