Just after the announcement and release of the first quad core tablet transformer prime Nvidia have announced the release of 7-inch transformer prime with ice cream sandwich on board for a very reasonable price of $250. The tablet is actually running on Tegra 3 chipset and provides an amazing performance similar to that of the transformer prime but at a reduced form factor.

The tablet was jointly announced at the CES by Nvidia and Asus. The 7inch tablet is designed just like Eee Pad MeMo ME171from the way it looks. The tablet also features an amazing WXGA screen with a resolution of 1280*800 IPS display that offer some amazing viewing angles with great color and contrast sensitivity.

Along with the Tegra 3 chipset the tablet also offers 1 Gb of RAM along with 16/32 Gb of internal storage. This tablet is able to play full 1080p video without any stutter and is also able to stream Youtube in 1080p resolution and is a joy to watch in that amazing screen.

The tablet also has an 8MP rear camera which will allow you to take 1080p videos as well as still picture with amazing color rendition. The camera on this one is similar to the unit on the original transformer prime but with a decreased resolution. The front facing camera is 1.2MP and will take care of all the video calls. This 7 inch transformer prime also packs all the connectivity options and includes:

  • Wi-Fi b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with EDS
  • GPS
  • Gyro sensor
  • Proximity sensor

The pad also comes with 4,400mAh battery which will be able to provide you with 8.5hours of video playback which is quite impressive. But if your using it for day to day without much video playback then the device will last more. Not only due to the large battery but also due to improved power efficiency of the new quad-core processor which is actually a penta-core processor the fifth one handling all the less intensive tasks. Couple it with the new power management feature of the ICS and you get a good deal of battery performance at a very affordable and reasonable rate.

Asus have not yet mentioned when this tablet will be available in the market or the exact pricing at the time of its sale. But they have mentioned it will be available at Q2 of this year.

When this 7 inch tablet will be released it will be a major hit because it will be highly portable and with that amazing screen quality doing any kind of work on that tablet will be joy. Moreover this tablet will provide almost the same performance of the original transformer prime so you get the performance of the original and portability also at a very affordable and reasonable price. The tablet will come pre- installed with android 4.0.

Asus have provided a tasty teaser for what will be available in the market on the range of the inexpensive tablets which provides same performance as the original tablet. What else we will see in the price of $250 only time will tell.

Rumor Confirmed:

The dream affordable 7 inch tablet will be called Asus MeMo 370T which will be released in Q2 of 2012 and will be available for $250.
