How to Install ClockworkMod Recovery on Any Galaxy S3

This tutorial will help you how to install ClockworkMod Recovery on your Samsung Galaxy S3, it gives you an endless amount of customization you can do with your phone. It allows you to install Custom ROMs, themes, tweaks and much more than you couldn’t do without ClockworkMod Recovery.

  • First enter your phone into “Download Mode”. Make sure your phone is unplugged and turned off.
  • Press the Volume Down button + Home Center button and Power Button all at the same time. Keep holding, when you feel a vibration let go of the power but keep holding onto the volume up and home center button.
  • Press the Volume Up button to continue.
  • Plug your phone via microUSB to your computer.
  • Then download the Odin3 from here and ClockworkMod Recovery for your device below.

AT&T (SGH-I747) – AT&T GS3CWM6.0.1.2.tar

T-Mobile (SGH-T999) – TmobileGS3CWM6.0.1.2.tar

U.S Cellular (SCH-R530) – USCellularGS3CWM

Sprint (SPH-L710) – SprintGS3CWM

Verizon (SCH-I535)- VerizonGS3CWM

International (GT-i9300) – i9300GS3CWM

Canadian (SGH-T999D) – CanadaGS3CWM

  • Unzip “Odin3” and open “odin3 v1.85 “
  • You should see a yellow bar on the left side of the program. If you don’t then make sure you have Samsung KIES installed on your computer.
  • Click on “PDA” and find the ClockworkMod Recovery tar file you downloaded for your device. The file name should be: “[Name of Carrier]GS3CWM6.0.1.2.tar”.
  • Make sure you uncheck “Auto Reboot” then, click on “Start”.
  • Once the process is complete you have installed ClockworkMod Recovery on your Galaxy S3.
