How to Root Galaxy Note N7000 by using Stock ICS ROM

This tutorial will assist you to root your device ie. Galaxy Note N7000 by using the Stock ICS ROM. Most of the Stock ROMs are given by Samsung, and you can flash that using PC Odin without exclamation mark or raising flash counter.

Please make a note that you are not suppose to wipe anything from stock ICS recovery. Don’t factory reset/Hard reset on stock ICS. Don’t flash any wipe version of ICS ROM. You are warned.

Pit file for 16GB model– Note for regular installation, use only after expert’s advise to revive bricked note.
Opera USB Browser (It will supports the resume download)

Pre requisites:

  • We strongly advise you to take backup of all your datas (i.e SMS, MMS, Call logs, APN Settings etc) which was available in your phone. Just in case, you lost your data due to any reason you could recover them with the help of backups.
  • We also advise you to charge your device battery fully. At-least 70% of charge is recommend from our side; to avoid your device getting switched off due to battery low during the middle of the process.
  • Disable or uninstall all the antivirus suites because this may interrupt the process.
  • Enable the USB Debugging option in your device by following the path Settings>Applications>USB Debugging.

Pre Installation: (For clean installation, optional)

  • First make backup with Titanium Backup or other similar app.
  • Then flash the GingerBread ROM if you are on any other ICS/Custom ROM.
  • Wipe the Cache, data from recovery on GB ROM.

Final Installation:

  • Download the ICS ROM, and extract it to .tar file.
  • Then download the Odin and open it.
  • Select the PDA tab and point to ROM file. Leave Re-partition, pit, CSC, Phone tab unticked.
  • Switch off the device, put in download mode by pressing the volume down button + Home button + Power button.
  • Completely close the KIES, Anti virus if running.
  • Then connect to the device PC.
  • ID Com port should turn yellow. After that hit the start button.
  • After reboot, you will see screen showing android updating, then will install some application.
