How to Update Galaxy S3 with Official Premium Suite XXELL4 Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware

The Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone users can now update their device by using Premium Suite Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware which is dubbed as XXELL4 firmware.

This Jellybean 4.1.2 Update has officially made its way in most of the European Countries and also has arrived in Poland. Soon, this update will be pushed to unbranded Galaxy S3 devices in Germany, Switzerland, Rest of Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin Americans too will get this Jellybean 4.1.2 update.

Eventhough this firmware lacks the Multi-window feature it has some other stable features. So, is this won’t be enough reason for you to update this firmware in your device?

Pre requisites:

  • It is always advisable to be on a safer side before you start to try anything new on your device. So, we strongly advice you to take backup of all your internal datas with the help of backup applications. Just in case, if you lost your data due to any reason after updating the firmware, you could easily recover them.
  • And also make sure whether your device battery level is atleast 75% to avoid the risk of your device getting switched off during the middle of the updating process.
  • Then Disable or Uninstall all the antivirus suites that you have installed in your mobile and computer. Because this may interrupt the process.
  • Then finally enable the USB Debugging option by following the path Settings>Applications>Development>USB Debugging.

Procedure to Update:

1. First download the XXELL4 Firmware based on your country from the box given below. Just in case, your country is not listed, you can download the “United Kingdom” one since it’s a generic firmware.

2. Then again download the Odin from here.

3. So, once you downloaded the country specific firmware package and Odin file extract both of them in your computer.

4. Now, upon extraction you will get to see the files as mentioned below. Open Odin in your computer and turn off your phone so that it can be entered in the Download Mode.

5. Download mode in Galaxy S3 GT I9300 can be entered in recovery mode by pressing the Volume Up rocker key + power button at the same time while the device is turned Off.

6. Just in case, your device starts in the normal mode instead of download mode then you need to retry the process until it enter into the download mode. Without entering into there you cannot proceed further.

7. Then connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then you will see that the ID:COM section will turn YELLOW indicating that all the drivers have been installed in your computer and you are now ready to go to the next step.

8. Click on “PDA” to select “tar file” which you get after firmware extraction and then select the option of “Start” for starting the process of firmware update.

9. Ignore the .dll file which you get after extracting the firmware package. Once the file is selected, click on “Start” for starting the process of firmware update. As soon as the firmware is updated successfully, you can see that the device will be rebooted automatically.

10. Now, follow the all on screen instructions fro setting up the phone for the first use.

11. If you want to check whether the firmware is updated or not then go to the path “Settings > About Phone” there you can find the firmware details as XXLLE4 Jellybean 4.1.2 firmware.
