LG is definitely not a famous name when it comes to the Smartphone world but being a leading electronic appliance manufacturer, they have introduced the LG Optimus 4X HD Android Smartphone which can compete against HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy SIII.

In past, LG has experimented with Android already by introducing a few smartphones but that was not a good success for the company. I still remember the first smartphone by LG introduced which was advertised with Iron Man marketing but it turned out to be a slow phone.

So far the smartphones introduced by LG have not been able to find a good pace in the market. In most of the cases, customers have come back complaining about different issues and bugs with the smartphones.

Never giving up on trying is what big men do and that is the same thing done by LG as they introduce their new LG Optimus 4X HD smartphone. I can surely say that if this handset goes well, this can be a turning point for LG in smartphone industry.

Tech geeks say that the new smartphone by LG is an answer to handsets like Samsung Galaxy SIII and HTC One X. Well, only time can tell what will happen? Meanwhile, let us have a look at the basic features, good and bad things of Optimus 4X HD.

LG Optimus 4X HD: Specifications

The handset is available for €500 in European markets which seems like a fair price while you look at the specs of this handselt. NIVIDIA Tegra 3 Processor is used in the smartphone having clock frequency of 1.5GHz. The Graphic User Interface is also by NIVIDIA GeForce ULP.

The handset comes equipped with latest Android OS version 4.0.3 also known as Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). The Display screen has a size of 4.7 inches (of course, competing with One-X and SIII) while the resolution is 720×1280 pixels.

There is 1GB RAM installed in the handset and an internal storage space of 16GB is also provided. You can use an SDCard if you want extended memory storage too. The rear camera is of 8MP and the front view camera is 1.3MP.

The smartphone is 8.9mm thick and the weight is only 133g which is quite good for any new handset as latest handsets comes with less thickness and least weight as well.

What Is Good

There is no doubt that Optimus 4X HD has been designed perfectly by LG. The design is very solid too and while holding in hand, doesn’t feel like as if you are holding a very sensitive handset. The rear cover is also very secure too.

The user experience of this new handset is really great; the processor installed in the handset can handle almost any kind of memory consuming task. Big screen allows you to play games easily and perform multitasking smoothly too.

The display screen is bright but consumes very low battery which is a great feature.

The Not So Good Things

The display is great but at certain angles, you cannot view the screen properly. This is probably because the screen is settled below the bezel glass.

The radio of 4X HD seems to have some problems regarding signals. Sometimes, while listening to the radio, signals may drop suddenly without any apparent reason.

Conclusion

Overall, we can say that LG Optimus 4X HD is a great phone especially when you look at the previous performance of the same company. It looks great too and the specs are also second to none. However, proper branding is required if LG wants it to be a big success.
