Samsung has finally decided to mark the entry of its much anticipated low entry level android phone in UK. Samsung Galaxy Pocket was announced way back in March after the MWC but was still not ready to be launched.
The smartphone seems to be getting ready as Three UK has mentioned the device in its webpage with status of Coming Soon.
Samsung galaxy pocket is the Android smartphone with lowest price tag of the company history. The device is fair considering its price. Its sporting a 2.8 inches screen, a QVGA (240×320) resolution display powered with an 832 MHz single core processor and a very rare 2.3 Mega pixel camera at the rear of the phone.
Folks, mind it this is no Galaxy S3 that you should think of features like Super Amoled or Smart Stay NFC. This is seriously meant for the poor people who can only think of buying an Android Smartphone, Samsung is trying to make their wish come true.
Just as the name suggests Samsung tries not to make too much burden on pocket with its Galaxy Pocket smart phone. It runs on the Android Gingerbread 2.3 but that’s no surprise.
There are several options which you can look before buying this smartphone a less than £100 version of Sony Xperia Tipo is already rumored to be coming next week and there is HTC Desire C which is already landed in many UK carriers and easily available.
Both can be tough competition especially considering that both are running the Android Ice Cream Sandwich whereas Galaxy Pocket has no plans to update into Ice Cream Sandwich. This can prove to be setback for the buyers who might just spend a little more and get Ice Cream Sandwich treat. Samsung must clearly choose the right price point.
