Sony always comes with some innovative apps and launcher. This time also it introduces a new app on the Xperia Z called Sony Car. It is specifically designed for driving.

What is Sony Car Launcher?

It is an essence launcher with big icons for essential shortcuts and apps. With two horizontally swipeable pages consisting of six icons on each page, the launcher has four main, default shortcuts: Location, Media, Phone and Settings.

Location and Media:

It consist the basic apps the driver wants to access while driving.

For example : It contains music player or the GPS app.

Settings:

The settings provide shortcuts to Bluetooth and NFC configurations.

Phone :

The phone shortcut shows the driver the recent inbound and outbound calls, favorite contacts, contacts list, and a dialer, all of which wen accessed, have every aesthetic element enlarged for easy viewing.

One of the known issues of this Sony Car Launcher is; it will force close when you press dial in phonebook/dialer mode in non Xperia devices. But don’t worry this error should be fixed very shortly.
