Before the Sony Xperia Z has been released, the rooting procedure for that device is released. Full credits will goes to the XDA Elite Recognized Developer DooMLoRD who has come up with this rooting procedure.
He took the Nexus 4 version of CF-Auto-Root, modified it a bit, did a dance to the rooting gods, and crossed his fingers and ultimately he has successful in his attempt.
We have given his rooting procedure below for your information. But before start to proceed you must have prior knowledge of unlocking bootloader. You must know about its pros and cons. Until you are not suppose to try this procedure. You have warned here.
Requirements:
- Firmware version : 10.1.A.1.350
- Unlocked Bootloader
- Fastboot files

How to root:
- First reboot into bootloader
- Then flash my modded CF-Auto Root Kernel
Code:
fastboot flash boot Z_DooMLoRD_CF-Auto-Root-ported_FW-350.img
- Then Reboot from fastboot

fastboot reboot
- The device will now start booting and you will get indication on screen saying
(Device will reboot in 10 seconds).
- After CF-Auto-Root reboots device once, disconnect USB cable and to hard power off (3 vibrations).
[FYI: disconnect usb cable.. u have to do hard power off “press power button and keep VOLUME UP key pressed for 15 seconds”]
- Connect device in fastboot mode and flash stock kernel

fastboot flash boot Z_DooMLoRD_insecure_FW-350.img
- Now reboot device and the device will start booting into OS.

fastboot reboot
- You should now download Busybox installer from market and install it at/system/xbin/
That’s it. Now, you have successfully rooted your Sony Xperia Z device.
