Sony plans to roll out a new Android 4.0.4 firmware update for the Xperia T and Xperia TX in the coming few days. This release carries a host of new features and functionality.
Here is the list of features:
1. Screen Mirroring:
Screen Mirroring let you experience the full Xperia T/TX interface wirelessly via WiFi Miracast on your TV – get the bigger picture as you share photos, videos, games, maps, emails and music.
2. Extended Standby mode:
The extended standby mode increases the standby time by upto 4 times. When the screen has been in sleep mode for a few minutes, Wi-Fi and data traffic will temporarily be disabled and most applications will become inactive.
But don’t worry the core functions such as calling and messaging will work normal. Once you touch the screen to wake the device up from standby all functions are back to normal.
3. Sony’s media applications:
Sony’s media applications continue to evolve and make the user experience of enjoying and sharing the content more personalized and effortless.
Movies app now let’s you run the show from the dashboard with a small viewing window, controls and film gallery. The “WALKMAN” app’s interface is more dynamic, with changing colors to reflect the track’s album art.
Album app utilizes Mobile BRAVIA Engine with even higher contrast, depth and sharpness in photos and videos. You can also make full use of SenseME Slideshows, delivering a tailored presentation matching music to your image’s ambience.
4. HD Voice:
The Xperia T supports HD Voice, the most significant voice quality upgrade in mobile history; transmitting a broader spectrum of the human voice resulting in a more natural sound filtering out distracting background noise. It’s now easier to recognize voices, and to hear and understand what the person at the other end is saying, even in noisy environments.
All the above are delivered on the latest generation dual core processor – benchmarked by a fair few of our media friends, Xperia T/TX’s Snapdragon processor leaves others in the dust. It lets you do more – effortlessly download, run and switch between multiple apps, view and capture photo/video unhitched and enjoy the most demanding gaming content.
The updates will be available for download over the air, via PC Companion or Bridge for Mac. The availability and scheduling of this software upgrade and specific models will vary by market and carrier requirements.
