This year in MWC we not only have announcements of latest android powered smartphones and tablets but also apps that have deeper integration with android OS.

Google have urged a handful of famous app developers to showcase their apps at MWC along with their integration to services such Google+ and other social networking sites. As a result StumbleUpon has announced new updates to its android app.

Stumbleupon was released in October and it was only available for android tablets. Later with a major redesign of the UI and streamlining various other features the app was made available to all the android smartphones.

Stumbleupon is quickly becoming the new way of accessing information on various topics which are spread out throughout the web. The app features a stumble button which when clicked will present you with some of the famous or most read articles on the net.

You can select the categories which you want displayed. The categories range from technology, arts to science and medicine. A wide variety of categories are available which you can add to your reading list. Once you click stumble then you will be presented with all the latest updates on those categories.

The presents you with personalized random articles, blog, entries etc. as long as it matches the category you have selected. At the MWC, Stumbleupon have announced some new unique streamlined features that you can experience simply by downloading the app.

In addition to the new features there some new unique properties to the app that will be only available to the Android Platform.

The users of ICS will be overjoyed because they can use the new Android Beam feature to share the content over NFC enabled devices. Also you will have access to the Android action bar which will allow you to explore the web.

With the new app you also get a resizable widget for your home screen which will allow you to preview the content that becomes available right from your home screen without having to launch the app.

In the previous version of app you weren’t able to share the articles or entries that you had stumbled upon on Google+. With this latest update you will be able to share the articles on Google+ as well as on Facebook, twitter etc.

After the launch of stumbleupon the number of users accessing the site has kept on increasing and recent observation suggests that the usage of stumbleupon mobile app has been growing by 35percent month over month.

This shows the popularity of the app on the portable devices and with the latest features to the app this popularity is more likely to double in the next 6 months.

So hopefully now stumbling upon relevant articles will be much easier and also you can now share them with your friends very easily.
