It looks like every company is focusing on making smartphones and tablets these days, especially the Android tablets. Toshiba has also introduced its new master piece called Toshiba Excite 7.7 which looks promising from its design and features.

What’s Good

The best thing that I can see in Toshiba Excite is its great AMOLED screen which gives a beautiful display experience. It also has a snappy quad-core processor (well that’s something really impressive). It also comes pre-installed with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

What’s Not Good

The tablet is priced at $500 which is quite high for Excite 7.7. The front camera of the tablet is installed awkwardly and device doesn’t offer a HDMI support as well.

Over All

If money is not an issue for you then the new Toshiba Excite 7.7 is not only a good tablet to have but it also has a beautiful display screen and very impressive internal speed.

Toshiba Excite 7.7 is the third member of Excite family now by Toshiba. The first two members are the big brother Toshiba Excite 10 and the even bigger brother the Excite 13.

If you put the tablet in landscape mode, it measures 8 inches wide, 5.31 inches tall the thickness is only 0.25 inches. The weight of the tablet is only 0.77lbs. The tablet can fit in the backpack very easily and if you are lady, you can easily adjust it in your purse too.

You will find the power button on top of the device and a screen rotation lock/ unlock switch. Volume rocker is also installed on the top of the device and there is a small opening for the internal microphone of Android Tablet.

On the right side, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, a micro-USB port and also a microSD card slot as well. To my dismay, there is no Micro-HDMI slot in this device. On the bottom of the device, there are two speakers for output sound and a power connecting port too.

There is a 2MP front camera which is placed on the top left corner. This location is not that good as you may need angel the device for taking photos properly. It can support 10-finger touch at a time giving you the flexibility to write anything easily.

If you order the Toshiba Excite 7.7, it will come with the Android OS 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich. There are some new additions made to the settings menu in this device. There are number of Google apps and Some of the common apps that you will find in this device are Maps, Google Plus, Gmail, Play Store, Latitude, Music, Search, Movies, Books, YouTube and Google Talk.
Some task manager features like Calendar, Calculator, Native E-mail, Clock, Media Player, File Manager, Browser, Sound Recorder and Address Book are pre-installed in the device.

Vide Review

Overall, this device is a good one and if you really want to have a small tablet then Toshiba Excite 7.7 is the best option for you. The price of $500 may not be attractive for most of you but features and performance of the device are superb.
