HTC One X smartphone users can now installed with the latest version of one Maximus V4.0 Firmware. Please be informed that this is not an official firmware version released by HTC but is a custom ROM firmware update which is released by XDA developer Football.

Rooting Information :

To install this Jellybean update it is necessary to Rooting and Unlocking of the Boot loader in HTC One X device. Once the device is rooted, the warranty will get void. But you can get back them by reapplying the official firmware update. To check on whether your device is rooted or not you may download the “Root Checker” app from Google Play Store.

Pre requisites to Update HTC One X with Maximus v4.0 Custom ROM Firmware:

  • There is a risk of data getting wiped off after applying this update, so before start to proceed we strongly advise you to create backup of all your precious data available in your phone. Just in case, if your data might corrupted due to any reasons you can easily get back with the help of backup.

How to Update HTC One X with One Maximus V4.0 Firmware:

  • Once downloaded, connect your HTC One X with the computer and place the zip package in your device. Please ensure that you are not placing the zip files deep inside the device.
  • The Boot loader mode can be enter by pressing volume Up Key+ OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the phone boots in the normal mode then you need to try again to enter into the boot loader mode.
  • After enter into the normal mode, you need to select “recovery” so as to enter into the recovery mode.
  • In recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and Wipe Cache partition for clearing all the cache data present in the device. After that select “install zip from SD card” > “choose zip from SD card” and then choose the One Maximus V4.0 Firmware package which you have placed in the device once the file is selected.

NOTE : Suppose your HTC One X refuses to boot up or say gets into the boot loop mode, then you need to re-apply the whole process from the start so as to make sure that the device is updated with this firmware.
